By accessing this website, booking a class, workshop, tour, or membership, or using the studio facilities at Grit & Grog Clay Co. (“the Studio,” “we,” “us”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Participation & Assumption of Risk

Participation in pottery activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to exposure to clay dust, sharp tools, heavy equipment, wet floors, kilns, and physical exertion.

By participating in any Studio activity, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree to follow all posted rules, verbal instructions, and safety guidelines provided by Studio staff.

2. Waivers & Liability

All participants must complete and sign a liability waiver prior to participating in any Studio activity. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

The Studio is not responsible for injuries, allergic reactions, loss of personal property, or damage resulting from participation, except where prohibited by law.

3. Booking, Payments & Cancellations

All bookings must be made through the Studio’s approved booking platform and are subject to availability.

Classes, Workshops, and Try-It Sessions

  • 8 days or more before the event: Full refund minus any processing fees

  • 7 days or fewer: No refunds; studio credit may be issued at the Studio’s discretion

  • No-shows: No refunds or credits

The Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to low enrollment, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund or studio credit.

4. Membership Terms

Membership access is subject to approval and adherence to Studio policies, rules, and community standards.

Membership benefits, pricing, storage access, and hours may change with reasonable notice. Memberships are non-transferable and may not be shared.

The Studio reserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership for violations of Studio rules, unsafe behavior, or conduct that disrupts the community.

5. Studio Conduct & Safety

Participants are expected to:

  • Use equipment only as instructed

  • Clean workspaces after use

  • Respect shared tools, materials, and facilities

  • Treat staff and fellow participants with respect

Unsafe behavior, misuse of equipment, or failure to follow instructions may result in removal from the Studio without refund.

6. Artwork, Firings & Storage

While the Studio takes reasonable care in handling work, pottery is inherently fragile. The Studio is not responsible for damage, cracking, warping, glaze results, or loss during drying, firing, glazing, or handling.

Unclaimed work may be discarded after a reasonable holding period. Storage space is limited and subject to Studio policies.

7. Photography & Media

The Studio may photograph or record activities for marketing or promotional purposes. By participating, you consent to the use of your likeness unless you notify staff in writing.

8. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, text, images, and materials are the property of Grit & Grog Clay Co. and may not be used or reproduced without written permission.

9. Website Use

This website is provided for informational and booking purposes only. We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Changes to Terms

The Studio reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the website or Studio facilities constitutes acceptance of any changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
